A Funeral Mass for Mildred Milady Horak, 85, of Caldwell, is set for 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 11, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dime Box with Father Ramon Frayna & Father Anthony Alphonse officiating. Burial will follow at Hranice Cemetery in Dime Box.




Mrs. Horak died Friday, December 7, 2012 at Burleson St. Joseph Manor in Caldwell.




She was born July 25, 1927 at the family home in the Frenstat Community to parents, Emil and Hattie (Pivonka) Uhlig.




Mrs. Horak was employed at Kellar Chair and Ladder Plant in Caldwell for 25 years. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and St. Joseph's Altar Society in Dime Box, and a member of Dime Box SPJST.




She enjoyed quilting, dominoes, bingo, and trips to Louisiana. Family members will remember her for her turkey and dressing, kolaches, pickles and dewberry jelly. On May 28, 1946 she married Albin Frank Horak, Sr. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Frenstat. They were married 55 years until his death in 2002.




She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers, John, Lee, Tony, and Walter Uhlig, seven sisters, Lydia Pruess, Mealy Schubert, Lorine Nielson, Benita Combes, Gladys Tiemann, Mavis Gaas and infant Elizabeth Uhlig.




Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Garland and Joan Horak of Houston, and Albin, Jr. and Barbara Horak of Caldwell; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sylvia and Fred Seal of Dilley, Marlene and Tommy Jarrett of San Antonio, and Kay and Mike Charanza of Caldwell; two brothers and sister-in-law, Raymond Uhlig of Seguin, Gus and Dorothy Uhlig of Adkins; two sisters-in-law, Helen Horak of Fort Worth, and Vauda Horak of London, England; eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.




Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Craig Seal, Robert Seal, Wayne Horak, Brian Horak, Patrick Horak, Brandon Charanza, Bradley Charanza and Albin Horak III. Honorary pallbearers are her granddaughters, Stacy Mitchell, Sheila Horak and Shelly Horak.




Memorials may be given to St. Joseph's Altar Society, 8282 FM 141, Dime Box, TX 77853 or Hospice Brazos Valley, 502 W. 26th St., Bryan, TX 77803.
