Linda K. Spikes was born July 30, 1944 in North Zulch, Texas to Luther and Ruby Mae (Wilson) Seay. She was raised in North Zulch and lived most of her life in Madison County. She also lived several years in Brazos County and was a member of the New Life Tabernacle in Bryan. She was a very talented seamstress and also enjoyed decorating cakes. Linda taught piano and voice lessons. She loved Southern Gospel Music. Through the years, she attended schools, such as the Stamps Baxter School of Music, and conventions to listen to and learn more about that wonderful music.

Linda participated in all of the local "singings" and was an excellent pianist. She was also a published songwriter and arranger. She sang with such groups as "The Piney Woods Quartet" and the "Camp Creek Singers. She and the late Otha "Goppy" Nash often sang together with Linda providing piano accompaniment. They were generous about playing at funeral services and other special occasions.

Linda was preceded in death by her father; a sister, Robbie Faye Gibson; and a great-granddaughter, Aly Kendalyn. She passed away on December 19, 2012 in Bryan. Linda's children would like to express a special thank-you to her niece, Bobbie Gail Jeffries, for the countless hours she spent caring for their mother.
