Virginia "Jenny" (Stockton) Eaves

Virginia "Jenny" Stockton Eaves, of Bryan, Texas, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, December 17, 2012.




Jenny was born in Scottsboro, AL, to John Gross Stockton and Lena Manning Stockton. She was married to Marvin L. Eaves, Jr. for 53 years. Jenny was a Bible believing Christian who lived her faith and exemplified Christ's love to all she met. She loved the ladies in her Eunice Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church, Bryan, and loved her church family at Central Baptist Church, College Station. Before moving to Carriage Inn Retirement Community in Bryan in 2005, she was an active member at First Baptist Church in Houston and the Crown Sunday School Class.




Jenny graduated from the University of Alabama with a physical education degree. She joined the American Red Cross for the duration of WWII and then worked for over 30 years for the City of Houston Parks and Rec. Dept. where she became a district supervisor.




She is survived by her son, John Eaves and his wife June, of Leander, TX; daughter, Jennie Garner and her husband Randy, of Bryan; 5 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; as well as a large extended family and many cherished friends.




A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, at Central Baptist Church, 1991 FM 158, College Station, Reverend Chris Osborne officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service. Interment will be by direct burial in Houston National Cemetery next to her husband, Marvin L. Eaves, Jr.




In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the Eunice Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church, 3100 Cambridge, Bryan or Central Baptist Church, College Station.
