Dorothy Lorraine Hearne Ouren, 80, of Bryan, Texas passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 22, 2012.




A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 29 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan followed by a private burial in Bryan City Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 28.




Dorothy was born in Steep Hollow, Brazos County, Texas to Bryan William Hearne and Cora Cook Hearne. She was married to Col. Marvin G. Ouren for 57 years.




Dorothy graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Bryan in 1949, entering North Texas State University at age 16 where she attended 1 ½ years before entering the workforce. Marriage and motherhood followed where her three children remained the pride of her life. At age 53 she chose to enroll at Texas A&M University, graduating in May 1988 with a BBA in Accounting. Dorothy joined ANCO Insurance where she retired as Vice President for Administration.




She is survived by her husband, Marvin; her sister, Billie Jean Holland of Dallas; her son, William "Bill" Ouren and his wife, Susan Mahler Ouren, of Kingwood Texas; her daughter, Suzanne Marie Ouren of Prosper Texas; her son, Miles G. Ouren and his wife, Lora Winklepleck Ouren, of College Station; and four grandchildren, Jessica Shirey, Mason Ouren, Miller Ouren, and Morgan Ouren.




In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hearne Ouren Memorial Fund for Hospice Brazos Valley, 1600 Joseph Drive, Bryan or to the Aggieland Humane Society.
