Kenneth Howard Lash, 82, of Iola, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2013 in Bryan. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Iola Worship Center, 23282 FM 39, Iola, Texas with Brother Cloyce Johnson, officiating. Hillier Funeral Home is entrusted to his care.
He was born on August 26, 1930 in Auburn, Nebraska to Charles and Lois (Posco) Lash. Ken served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was an active member of both the V.F.W. and American Legion. Ken loved to tinker with his tools and build things and worked as a mechanic. He also loved his pets and was active with his church family at the Iola Worship Center.
Ken is survived by his sons, Tommy McGuire and wife Bonnie Mattson of Iola and Charlie "Mickey" McGuire and wife, Cathy of Denison; grandchildren, Michael John Mattson, Michael Paul Prestwood, John Glenn McGuire, Clayton Alan McGuire, Haley McGuire and Robert Ohde and great-grandchildren, Rachel Patricia McGuire and Charley Wren Ohde. He also leaves behind his sister, Norma Cotton and husband, George of Arizona and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Doris (Tidrow) Lash; parents, Charles and Lois Lash and grandson, Tony McGuire.
