Dorothy (Varisco) Donaho

October 31, 1925 - January 7, 2013




Dorothy (Varisco) Donaho, 87, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2013 after a brief illness. She was born in Bryan, Texas on October 31, 1925 as the elder of Brazos A. Varisco and Lucille (Scardino) Varisco's two children. After graduating at age 16 from Stephen F. Austin High School in Bryan, Dorothy and her sister Toni attended Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York, where she graduated in 1945 with a liberal arts degree. Dorothy married and lived for many years in Bryan before moving to Houston in 1980.




Dorothy's family will receive guests during a visitation on Thursday, January 10 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Hillier Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 11 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Bryan, Texas, with Msgr. John McCaffrey presiding. Interment will be in the Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.




Dorothy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lucille and Richard Weiss; her sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Stephanie Donaho, and Brazos and Jackie Donaho; and seven grandchildren.
