Nellie Oleta (Prichard) Cargill

Nellie Oleta Cargill went home to be with her Lord on January 8, 2013 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's and Heart Disease. Services will be Friday January 11, 2013 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in New Baden, Texas. Interment will be at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, January 10, in McCauley Funeral Home Chapel.




Oleta was born on October 17, 1928 to Willard and Edna Prichard in Easterly, Texas. She spent most of her life in Robertson County. Having lost her mother to terminal illness at age seven she was raised by her loving father Willard and a supportive extended family including her maternal grandparents Rufus and Geneva Archer Roberts and paternal grandmother Nancy Johnston Prichard.
Oleta married Obia Cargill on May 26, 1946. She and Obia had five children. She was a loving mother, devoted and loyal wife. She was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church New Baden and touched many lives with her kindness. She will always be in our hearts.




Oleta was preceded in death by two sons, Virgil Allan and Michel Wayne; and her parents, Willard and Edna Prichard.




Survivors include her husband, Obia Cargill; her son and daughter-in-law, James and Colleen Cargill of Buda; a daughter, Janette Curby of Esperance, Western Australia; and a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Ronald Sanders of Franklin. She had nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Also surviving Oleta is her brother and sister-in-law, James and Nancy Prichard; a sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Michael Stirl of Daingerfield; her aunt, Nell Varner of Huntsville; along with a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.





The Family wishes to thank the members of the staff of the Franklin Nursing Home who cared for her in recent years.




In lieu of customary remembrances the family requests that any donations be made to your local Alzheimer's Association or to the charity of your choice .
