Norma Jeanne Shannon

Jeanne Shannon went to meet her Lord on Friday, January 11, 2013. There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 19 at the Covenant Presbyterian Church located at 220 Rock Prairie Road, College Station, Texas.




Jeanne was born in Enid, Oklahoma to Edson David and Audrey Price. She attended school there and later in Stillwater, Oklahoma where she played the violin and saxophone in the school orchestra and band. She then attended Oklahoma State University where she belonged to the Pi Beta Phi sorority and majored in journalism. She married Robert David Shannon on September 14, 1946.




Jeanne and Bob lived in Wichita, Kan., for 29 years where they raised their 4 children. They moved to College Station, Texas in 1984 upon Bob's retirement.




Jeanne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was active in the Presbyterian Church her entire life.




Survivors include her husband Bob, who resides at the Hudson Creek Home; daughter, Kathleen Trees of San Diego; and sons, John Shannon of Cowpens, S.C. and Craig Shannon of St. Louis, Mo. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren.




Bob and Jeanne requested donations may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church.
