Ella Velma (Dickson) Murphy

April 17, 1960 - January 10, 2013




Ella Velma (Dickson) Murphy, 52, of College Station, formerly of Hearne, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2013 at the College Station Medical Center. Services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday, January 19, at New Elam Baptist Church, Rev. Derron Robinson, church Pastor. The Rev. Sampson Wilson will officiate. Interment will follow in Greater Riverside Cemetery of Hearne.




Visitation will be at Glenn Mack Funeral Home in Hearne from 9 to 9:45 a.m. prior to the service.




Ella Velma (Dickson) Murphy was born April 17, 1960 in Hearne to Mary Louise Dickson and was raised by Emma L. James & Jack Westbrook. She graduated from Hearne High School and was a certified nurses aide. She was a member of New Zion Baptist Church and a member of the order of the Eastern Star. She loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed caring for others.




Her parents preceded her in death.




Survivors include her son, Melvin E. Murphy Jr.; her daughter, Kiairre L. Murphy; an aunt, Emma Lee James; and a precious granddaughter, Kaleiah Ann-Don'Ella Murphy.
