Robert "Bobby" Earl Fuchs, Sr., 73, of Plantersville, died Sunday evening, January 14, 2013, at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan.




Calling hours will begin Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 9:00 am at Lindley-Robertson-Holt Funeral Home with a gathering of family and friends at 5:00 pm and concluding with a vigil service at 7:00 pm.




The funeral liturgy will be 10:30 am Friday, January 18, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church (smsj.org), 8227 CR 205 at FM 1774 in Plantersville with Rev. Edward C. Kucera, Jr. officiating. The rite of committal will follow in St. Mary's Church Cemetery.




Pallbearers will be Neal Bosse, Lester Underwood, Bobby Joe Green, Judge Joe Imhoff, Tommy Voelter and Joel Allphin.




Bobby was born February 14, 1929 in Houston to Earl August and Rowena G. Attebery Fuchs. He graduated from Aldine High School in 1957 and attended Wharton Jr. College. It was on September 13, 1959 that he married the former Betty Frances Swonke. They settled in Plantersville and soon became involved in numerous organizations across Grimes County, most of which helped the kids of Grimes County. Bobby was the former owner of Sports Unlimited in Navasota and after retiring he went back to work at Imhoff General Store to keep up with the happenings of Grimes County.




Bobby was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Hollie Winn.




Survivors include his wife, Betty Fuchs; his parents, Earl and Rowena Fuchs, all of Plantersville; children, Lynne Gantt and husband Greg of College Station and Robert E. Fuchs, Jr. and wife Ginna of Bryan; a sister, Joyce Knighten of Plantersville; and four grandchildren, Sam Winn, IV, Jordan Robert, Aaron Richard and Ryan Allan Fuchs.




For those who desire, the family has suggested memorials in Bobby's name to the Plantersville/Stoneham Bunch or other charity that will benefit the kids of Grimes County.
