Funeral services for Lila Mae Schoppe, 83, of Navasota and a former resident of Somerville, are set for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2013 from Strickland Funeral Home Chapel in Somerville with Rev. David Norton and Rev. Marlin Pace officiating. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Somerville.




Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 23rd at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville. Mrs. Schoppe died on Monday, January 21, 2013 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center.




Lila was born March 14, 1929 in Somerville, the daughter of Norris R. and Rachel L. (Courtney) Monroe. She was married to Andrew Hugo Schoppe on January 11, 1947 in Caldwell. She was a homemaker and a member of Snook Assembly of God Church for over 50 years.




She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Andrew on November 14, 1999, two sisters, J. L. Schoppe and Addie Paschall; three brothers, Wilson Monroe, William Monroe and Richard Monroe.




Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Tricia and James Junek of Bryan, and Sandra and Raymond Easley of Bryan; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
