Larry Charles Smith, 68, of Bryan passed away Friday, January 18, 2013 in Port Isabel, Texas from pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded by his family and loved ones. There will be a memorial service in Port Isabel, Texas at 2 p.m. on March 23rd.
Larry was born in Corpus Christi, March 22, 1944. He was raised primarily in Houston where he enjoyed fishing and hunting. In 1976 he moved to Bryan where he owned the Bait Barn. It was his wish to have a business that allowed him to spend as much time as possible with his family.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Coleman) Smith; and son, Steven Smith.
Survivors include his loving companion, Carol Rausch of Port Isabel; his daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Randy Rogers; three grandchildren and their spouses, William & Whitney Harper and Matthew Harper, all of Bryan, and Cassie & Matthew Ofczarzak of San Antonio; a great-grandson, Payton Mack Harper of Friendswood; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Evelyn Smith of Port Isabel and Ronnie and Melinda Smith of Killeen.
Memorials can be made to the Carol Rausch Scholarship Fund for Exchange Students at Pan Am University in McAllen, Texas.
