Joe "Balloon" Garcia Jr., 71, of Bryan, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, January 26 in Bryan. His services are scheduled for Tuesday visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6:30 p.m.




Funeral service is 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Reverend Ryan Higdon is officiating. Callaway Jones Funeral Home and Crematory is entrusted to his care.




Joe Garcia Jr. was born to Joe and Antonia Garcia in Cameron. Joe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a great-great grandfather. Mr. Garcia was one of the first bakers, donut makers with Shipley's Donuts in Bryan. He retired from Navasota Pipe Company as a security officer. His family will miss him for his sense of humor and love he shared.




He is preceded in death by his parents, and wife, mother of his children, Elbira Ayala Garcia; his daughter, Janie Garcia; great-granddaughter, Jossleyn Rodriquez; and his brother, Raymond Garcia.




He is survived by his sons, Joe Garcia III and wife Mary, Paul Garcia Sr. and wife Rose; his daughters, Betsy Garcia Medina, Theresa Romero, Antonia Galvan and husband Gilbert Sr.; including two son-in-laws, Albert Garcia and Ricky Medina; 29 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren, and his great-great-grandchild; his sister, Mary Jane Narro and husband Issac; his sister-in-law, Jean Garcia; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
