He was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend to many. Without question, his love and devotion to his family was constant and unconditional.

J.W. was born March 8, 1929 to William B. and Lillie (Schoppe) Heine in Lyons, Texas. He was baptized and confirmed at the Birch Evangelical and Reformed Church.

After graduating from Caldwell High School in 1947, he was employed by Orr's Minimax in Bryan. J.W. joined the Army in January 1951. After serving our country and returning home, he continued working in the grocery business and became store manager of Weingarten's in Bryan. Mr. Heine enjoyed supporting the youth of the community by purchasing animals during the Brazos and Burleson County Livestock shows. His love of livestock started at an early age, which led him to become a prominent rancher throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jesse Heine; his sisters, Helen Heine, Mary Dene Schultz, Pat Houdek, Doris Ann Kovar; and his niece, Peggy (Gaas) Stevens.

Survivors include his sister, Imogene Havemann of Birch, sister and brother-in-law Erma and Richard Gaas of Calvert, and his nieces and nephews who affectionately called him "Uncle Bub" include Linda (Havemann) O'Brien, Dianna (Schultz) Curington, Susan (Heine) Junek, Ronnie Gaas, Rick Houdek, Kathy (Schultz) Cornett, Dennis Havemann, Nan (Houdek) Latimer, Lisa Houdek, Marsha (Kovar) McCuller and numerous great nieces and nephews.
