Carmen G. Villareal, 94, passed away peacefully Sunday February 17 at Hospice Brazos Valley Inpatient with her family by her side. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday February 20, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Msgr. John McCaffrey officiating. Interment will follow at Bryan City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with a rosary service at 6:30 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.




Carmen was born March 20, 1918 in Eagle Pass, Texas the daughter of Carlos and Eloisa (Valadez) Galindo. She was a ladies auxiliary member for both V.F.W. Post No. 4692 and American Legion Post 159. She was also a member of the DAV, Knights of Columbus ladies auxiliary and the Guadalupanas. Carmen volunteered many hours visiting patients in the local nursing homes. She enjoyed gardening, plants and flowers, quilting and reading her bible and serving the Lord. She loved making new friends, giving hugs and would tell you, she loved you.




Carmen is preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Veronica Wilder, sisters and brothers-in-law, Guadalupe and Juan Barron, Estela and Ben Arevalo, and her brother, Carlos Galindo, Sr.




She is survived by her loving and caring husband of 63 years, Domingo M. Villareal; daughters and sons-in-law, Sylvia and Johnny Martinez, Petra "Patsy" and Pablo Rodriguez; son-in-law, Mark Wilder; grandchildren, Carlos Rodriguez, Cristina Rodriguez, Ana Alicia Martinez, Laura W. Martinez and husband Joe, and Sara Wilder; one great-grandson, Anthony Patina.




Our family would like to thank the Hospice Brazos Valley staff, Dr. Laehra, St. Joseph Regional Hospital staff and Health Quest for the love and care they gave to Carmen.
