Oliver "Big Daddy-Do" Davis

Oliver "Big Daddy-Do" Davis, 86, of Hearne, passed away Friday, February 15, 2013 in Bryan. Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, February 22, at Glenn Mack Funeral Home of Hearne.




Services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday, February 23, at Old Elam Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. James Crawford officiating. Burial will follow in Greater Riverside Cemetery, also in Hearne.




Mr. Davis was an active member of Progressive Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, church treasurer. He was in was in the church choir and the Citywide Male Choir, he was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and had many auxilliary associations.




Oliver leaves to cherish his precious memories, the love of his life of 64 years, wife Carrie Davis; sons, James Oliver Davis and wife Tracy, Travis Davis and wife Lynn; Connie Nelson and husband Mansfield, Vickie D. Taylor, Wilma Johnson and husband Luther, Bali Be' Gina Taylor and husband James, Mandy Johnson and husband Milton; brothers, James A. Davis, Raymond Davis and Larry Henderson; brothers, sisters-in-law, Mabel O'Neal and Diane Edison; 34 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
