Mary Rebeckie Riggs, 98, of Bryan, passed from this life and went to be with her Heavenly Father Sunday afternoon, February 24, 2013. Her family will receive friends during a visitation from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan, Texas.




Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 28, 2013, at Trinity Baptist Church in Bryan with the Rev. Henry Stovall officiating. Interment will follow at the Bryan City Cemetery.




Mary was born October 25, 1914, in Cross, Texas, to Edward and Nancy Hayes. She worked as a seamstress for the American Laundry Company in downtown Bryan for many years and is a lifelong resident of this area. Mary was a devoted member of Trinity Baptist Church in Bryan. Mary never met a stranger. She devoted her life to helping others and showering them with God's love.




She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick; brothers, Clinton, Audie, and Alfred Hayes; sisters, Ethel Hurt, Ina Conley, and Pansy Webb; and her grandson, Bobby Allen Riggs, Jr.




Survivors include her son, Bobby Riggs and wife Frances, of Bryan; daughters, Maude Dean Rich, of Burton, Vonnie Pauling and husband Conrad, of Bryan; nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and eleven great-great grandchildren.




For those who desire, contributions may be made to Trinity Baptist Church at 1070 N Harvey Mitchell Pkwy, Bryan TX 77803.
