Bobby D. Owen, "Bob O" age 61 passed away on February 23, 2013 at his home in Hearne, Texas. A Celebration of Bob's life is planned for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Bryan, under the direction of Ramsey Funeral Home, 3100 Cambridge Drive, Bryan, Texas.

Bob was born in Dallas, October 1, 1951. He grew up in Amarillo, graduating from Amarillo High School in 1970. He continued his education at Texas Tech University earning a bachelors degree in marketing in 1977. With several job offers on the table, he began his career in the oil and gas industry starting with Western Company in Liberty, Texas and spent the last fifteen years with Mission Petroleum.

Bob is survived by his devoted wife of thirty-five years, Beverly Owen; his sister, VeonaOwen of Slayton, Texas; brother, Jimmy Owen of Amarillo, Texas; in-laws, Hurschel and Sally Cantwell; sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and Vernon Woodward all residing in Round Rock, Texas. Blessed with many nieces and nephews, he loved and cherished: Tara Huckabee, Reagan Woodward, Brian Owen, Jerry Owen, James Owenand Carey Owen as well as numerous great nieces and nephews. He would also want to profess his love for his dear friends: Glenn and Holly Whatley of Cedar Park, Texas and Gary Martin of Hearne, Texas all of whom were a great presence in his life.

This "larger than life" man will always be remembered for his spirit of compassion, his honesty, his integrity and for his smile as big as Texas. In short, Bob was a "giver" to anyone in need.

The family would like to thank Sarah from Merryman Home Health Care, as well as Karen and the entire staff of Hospice Brazos Valley for their care for "Bob O" in his last days.
