Myrtle Mae Barnes

Myrtle Mae Barnes, 82, of College Station passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013 at the College Station Medical Center. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, March 1, at Jones-Washington Mortuary.




Services are set for 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. A. C. Clark, III, officiating. Interment will follow at Salem Cemetery.




Myrtle Barnes was born February 14, 1931 in Brazos County to Palmer and Elnora Barnes. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed bingo and visiting her grandchildren.




She was preceded in death by her parents; her spouse, Johnnie Young, Sr.




Survivors include four sons, four daughters and two sisters; fifteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
