Anton Emil Gaas, 84, of Buckholts, died Tuesday, March 26 at his home. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Saturday at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home with Father Ed Karasek officiating. Burial will follow in the Corinth Cemetery. Rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Gaas was born May 28, 1928 in Caldwell to Richard and Mary (Marchalek) Gaas. He married Helen Ruth Shenkir. He retired from E. R. Carpenter. He was a member of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church and ODHS Lodge.
He was preceded in death by brother, J.D. Gaas; and three sisters, Josphine Binn, Margaret Polansky and Dorothy Junek.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Gaas of Buckholts; sons, Harold A. Gaas of Buckholts, Donald D. Gaas of Buckholts, Darren K. Gaas of McKinney; brother, Milton Gaas of Bryan; sister, Matilda Kocurek of Caldwell; stepbrother, Richard Gaas of Calvert; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Ss. Cyril & Methodius Recreation Center in Marak or to Standards Hospice.
