Mike V. Arredondo answered the call of the Lord on March 23, 2013 in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 70. The proud son of Severo and Eliza Arredondo, Mike was born May 8, 1942 in Bryan, Texas. He was a devoted family patriarch, mentor, leader, and always an example of a good man.




He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1966 and was a lifelong Aggie. He was swept off his feet by the love of his life, Tina Arredondo, in Corpus Christi, Texas. They married November 19, 1968, and built a beautiful life together. He improved the lives of countless children and families through his lifelong work at the Department of Health and Human Services, Head Start. He was an avid gardener, continuously worked to improve his community, and always fought for what was right. Mike deeply loved his family.



He is survived by his loving wife Tina; two children, Michael and Tessa; beloved brother, Julio; and dearest sister, Mary.




The family would like to give special thanks for the loving care of his caregivers at Methodist Hospital and Odyssey Hospice, and for the caring and compassionate treatment from Dr. Carlos Taboada and Rev. Ben Molina, Parochial Vicar, St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.




A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan. Inurnment will follow at Mt Calvary Cemetery. A Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan with a Rosary Service at 7 p.m.
