Funeral services for Thresa "Joy" Brymer, 69, of Caldwell are set for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell, with Rev. David Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Masonic Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled for 6:00 to 8:00, Wednesday, April 3, 2013. Mrs. Brymer passed away on March 31, 2013 at her home.




Joy was born October 1, 1943 to Abraham Lincoln Tucker and Ethyl Laverne Helton in Pasadena, Texas. Joy attended Amon G. Carter High School in Ft. Worth and then San Jacinto College in Pasadena.




Joy was a member of Lodge No. 17 New Tabor SPJST. She worked as a nurse for several years and met David Brymer in 1967. They married on December 12, 1969 and went into business from 1979 to 1998 with Brymer Dozer Service. She worked at ranching and farming since 1996, raising calves for re-sale and producing hay. She was employed by Burleson County Clerk's office beginning in 2002. She was elected District Clerk in 2006. The love of her life was her farm, her children, and her grandchildren.




Joy is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Amy Dawn Brymer of Bryan, William and Andy Rose Brymer of Caldwell; sisters, Ertis Crumpler of LaPorte, Texas, Sandra Ray Fortenberry of Rusk, Texas; two grandchildren, Avery and Brooke and four step grandchildren, Tori, Jacqueline, Michaela, and Olivia.




Pallbearers will be Brad Novosad, Marshall Petty, Dalibor Jerabek, Kenneth Crumpler, Thomas Trnka, and Tye Dowell. Honorary pallbearers are Dave Schoenemann and Archie Moore.




The family suggests memorials to Brazos Valley Hospice, 502 W. 29th St., Bryan, Texas 77802.




Arrangements are under the care and direction of Strickland Funeral Home of Caldwell.
