Marjorie Dean, 86, of College Station passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2013. A time to visit with her family will be Tuesday, April 9, from 5:00-6:00 pm at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan, with services on Wednesday, April 10, at Hillier Funeral Chapel at 10:00 am with Dr. James Maness officiating. Burial will be at the Central Texas State Veteran's Cemetery in Killeen, Texas, at 3:00 pm.
Marjorie was born May 19, 1926, in Killeen, Texas and attended Killeen High School. She received her B.A. degree from Baylor University in the spring of 1946.
She married her college sweetheart, Bill Jay Dean of Tulsa, Oklahoma, on May 27, 1948 in Waco. They eventually moved to Odessa in 1953 where she lived and taught school until moving to College Station in 1982. While in College Station, she served as president of the Bryan-College Station Newcomers Club from 1991 – 1992 and enjoyed her free time with her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Vee Williams, and her brother, J. L. Williams of Killeen.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Bill Jay Dean of College Station; her daughters and sons-in-law, Robbie and James Maness of Cedar Park, Becki and Doug Novak of Plano; 5 grandchildren, Phillip Edwards and his wife Kristen of Cedar Park, Natalie Young and her husband Steven of Cedar Park, Scott Edwards and his wife Megan of Austin, Lauren Novak and her husband Justin Beish of Chicago, Illinois, and Chris Novak of Plano; great-grandchildren Brynlee Ann Young, Elle Madison Edwards and Prescott Dean Edwards of Cedar Park.
Marjorie was a wonderful wife, tremendous mother and a fantastic grandmother. She will live in our hearts forever.
