Willie Humber, Jr., 87, of Hearne passed away April 4, 2013 in Bryan. Visitation will be from 12 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 12, at Glenn Mack Funeral Home of Hearne. Services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday, April 13, at Independent Missionary Baptist Church in Hearne with the Rev. Walter Ward officiating. Interment will be at Greater Riverside Cemetery in Hearne.

Willie was born October 13, 1925 in Calvert. He was a member of the Independent Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Mr. Humber was a farmer for many years and he worked for Hearne I.S.D. for 50 years.

Survivors include his wife, Tommie Lee (Miles) Humber; seven sons, Henry, Embry, Willie III, Vince and Herman, all of Hearne, Louis & wife, Nina, of Bryan and Keith & wife Jacquiline of Houston; daughters, Edwina Mack & husband Lee of Houston, Sheila and Velisa Humber of Hearne; stepmother, Ruby Walker of New Mexico; brothers, Charles James Walker; brother-in-law, Johnnie Miles and wife, Dorothy of Kentucky; sister, April McKee; sisters-in-law, Estella Wilkins, Gloria Reed & husband Lester, and Mattie Miles of Houston; 38 grandchildren & 44 great-grandchildren; and adopted daughters, Susan Davis, Clem Washington, both of Hearne and Gene Garrett of Houston; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends
