J.C. Humphries of Bryan, Texas passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Lampstand Care Giving at 3:30pm with family by his side. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm Monday April 15, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Bryan. Graveside Services will be held at the Dublin Live Oak Cemetery at 11:00am Tuesday April 16, 2013 in Dublin Texas.
J.C. was born June 25, 1926 to John and Cora Humphries in Dublin Texas. He was married to Patsy Heatly on February 7, 1946 in DeLeon, Texas. He retired from TEEX as a Training Specialist, managing programs conducted for the Texas Highway Department. Before coming to TEEX, JC was a Soil Conservation Contractor with his business based in Dublin. He served in the US Army Air Corps 1944-1946 in World War II. JC was a member and Deacon of First Baptist Church Bryan (Hancock Sunday School Class), and volunteered in various community service activities in the Brazos Valley.
JC was preceded in death by his son Mark Humphries, who was lost in Afghanistan in 2005. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Pat Humphries of Bryan; daughter and son-in-law, Stormy and Rodney Armstrong, son Sam Humphries, son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Kim Humphries, daughter-in-law, Jamie Humphries; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
