John A. Carlton, 85, of College Station, passed away Monday morning, April 15, 2013. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan. Gravesides services will begin at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 18, at Rest-Ever Memorial Park in Bryan, with the Rev. Ray Marshall officiating.
John was born February 25, 1928, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, to Frank and Mary Carlton. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy in which he served honorably during WWII. John was a member of the American Legion Earl Graham Post 159 in Bryan.
He was preceded in death by a son, Scott Young; daughter, Beverly Young; brother, Richard Carlton; sisters, Dorothy Dean, Frances Tomlin, Marie Tolliver; and his parents.
Survivors include his loving wife, Mildred Carlton; son, Leslie Young and wife Belinda; daughters, Beth Young and Pam Hamilton; son, Marvin Carlton; daughters, Mary Dean Foster and husband Richard, Donna Hamlin and husband Dennis; brother, Marvin Carlton and wife Helen; sisters, Ruby Mays, Ellen Hall and husband Fred; close friends, Terry & Joyce Westbrook, Pete and Mary Carlos, the Buenrostero Family, the Lufsey Family; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
