Glenwood Ray Wendler, 80, of Bryan, Texas went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 19, 2013.
Services will be held a 2:00 p.m. on April 27, 2013 at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell, Texas. Interment will follow at the Aggie Field of Honor Cemetery, in College Station, Texas, with a gathering to follow. A visitation will be held on Friday evening at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Glenwood, known to others as "Tuff", was born in Holland, Texas on January 17, 1933, during a blizzard to Willie Wendler & Edna Lange Wendler. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Bartlett, Texas. He graduated from Holland High School. He married Joan Whitlow on March 15, 1954 and had two sons, Wilson Whitlow and Jason Judd.
Glenwood's first love other than Joan were cows, his second was the love for his grandchildren. Glenwood was a professional Rancher, he ranched cattle in 14 counties in Texas; he would start early in the morning and would not get home till way after dark. He was inducted to the Bell county Cowboy Hall of fame in June of 2011.
Glenwood is survived by his soul mate, Joan Wendler of College Station; sons, Wilson and wife Cheryl Matous Wendler, Jason and wife Sandy Kohring Wendler of College Station; seven grandchildren, Walt and Katy Wendler of College Station, Waylon Wendler of College Station, Haley Wendler of West Lafayette, Indiana, Skyler Wendler of Austin, Texas, Weston and Wilsey Wendler of College Station, Jessica Matous of Austin, Texas and many friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his Mother, Daddy and brother, Logan Harold Wendler.
