Rebecca M. Lloyd, 95, entered eternal rest on Monday May 6 at The Waterford in College Station.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday May 11 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station with Chaplin Gary Roe officiating. Interment will follow at College Station Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Rebecca was born October 31, 1917 in Shelbyville, TN. She grew up in Wartrace, TN., where she attended public schools. She moved to College Station in 1935 arriving by train. She taught Sunday School to young children at First Baptist Church in Bryan for many years.
Rebecca was an exceptional artist. Her paintings have been featured at the College Station City Conference Center and at the Brazos Center. Some of her art work hangs in many homes here in the Brazos Valley. She also made greeting cards. Every card she created was a one of kind. She was member of the Brazos Valley Art League's for more than 30 years. Rebecca was an avid supporter of the Aggie football team and attended all home games since 1936.
Rebecca is preceded in death by parents, Henry and Tina Morgan, husband, Irvin H. Lloyd, brothers and sisters-in-law, Lester and Elizabeth Morgan, Malcolm and Nellie Mae Morgan, Raymond and Ola Morgan, sisters and brothers-in-law, Ernestyne and Karl Morgan, Lucille and Ernest Morgan, niece, Maybelle Morgan, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. H.B. Lloyd, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Cora and Ray Hardin, Dora and Vernon Kummel, and Alfred Edge, nephew, Bobby Edge and great-nephew, David Reynolds.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David H. and Vinnie Lloyd; nieces, Amanda Kaupt and husband Harry and their children, Melinda Morgan and her children, Sandra Reynolds and husband Bob and their son Marty, Susan R. Sherman and husband Lynne and their sons, Tim, Vernon Wayne and Dan and their children.
The Lloyd family would like to extend a special thank you for the care of Rebecca to the staff at The Waterford, Homestead Senior Care, private sitters and Southern Care Hospice.
