Gerry Lynn (Stovall Cowan) Pennell

Gerry Pennell, 59, of Hobbs, New Mexico, passed away on May 17, 2013, at her mother's home in Bryan. A visitation has been scheduled for 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 25th at Christ United Methodist Church in Bryan, Texas. Service arrangements are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home and Crematory.




Gerry Stovall was born the 5th of nine children to Bergess and Dorothy Stovall on February 14, 1954 in Buffalo, New York. She grew up in Bryan where after high school she had two girls with her then husband, Randy Cowan. In 1984 she met and married James "Bob" Pennell and they travelled the country together. Amongst all of her hobbies, she enjoyed photography, crocheting, and baking and thoroughly enjoys spending time with her full-bred Collies. Rarely in the pictures, Gerry has photographed her friends and family over the years and has captured some truly amazing landscapes among 46 of the 50 United States of America. Her travels led her to have a career in DOT consulting in Hobbs until she fell ill with lung cancer last year.




Survivors include her mother, Dorothy Stovall; her husband, of 28 years, Bob Pennell; her daughters; Crystal and husband, Ole Iversen, Pamela and husband, Robbie Heugatter; her grandchildren, Ava and Wesley Iversen; her eight siblings and their families; as well her husband's children and their families; and last, but not least, her youngest "girls" Smokey and Bandit.
