Margaret Ann (Schoonover) Dockery, 69, of La Grange, Texas, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2013 in Austin. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 20, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 600 FM 1482, Warda, Texas, at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2013. Burial will follow at La Grange City Cemetery.
Margaret was born in Bryan, Texas on October 1, 1943 to L.D. and Rosie (Winslow) Schoonover. She married Calvin Dockery on November 17, 1962 in Bryan.
She worked as an Assistant Librarian at Texas A&M University in Bryan-College Station. After moving to La Grange, she was the owner of Western Auto for seven years. She continued her career as Manager of River Valley Motor Inn and then as Secretary for J. P. 1 until her retirement.
Margaret was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, a life member of the Optimist Club where she was currently the Secretary/Treasurer, and a member of Ladies' Aid at Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband, Calvin Dockery; daughter, Amy Dockery-Greene and husband, William, of Frisco, Texas; son, David Dockery and wife, Melissa, of La Grange; three sisters, Reba Foursha and husband, Anthony, of Bullard, Texas; Darlene Perkins of Bryan, and Marilyn Monigold and husband, Bill, of Bryan; two brothers, Calvin Schoonover and wife, Bonnie, of College Station, and Leslie Schoonover of Euless, Texas; six grandchildren, Amanda Nicole Dockery and fiancé, Saxon Dittert, Ryan Michael Dockery and fiancée, Carlee Smith, Tyler Aaron Dockery, Audrey Catherine Donarumo, Michael Austin Green and Liam Ethan Green; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Imogene Sisco; two brothers, Alvin Earl Schoonover and William Joel Schoonover; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mabel M. Dockery and Johnny J. Dockery.
