Krystal Koshae Cooks, 27, of Bryan, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at College Station Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, June 14, at Jones-Washington Mortuary. Services are set for 12 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at New Jerusalem Baptist Church with Pastor Marie Nutall, officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Krystal Cooks was born June 6, 1985 in Temple, Texas to Christopher Cooks and Demetra Payton. She graduated form Bryan High School.
She enjoyed spending time with family, taking care of her baby sister, reading, TV and crossword puzzles. Krystal was a former member of United Missionary Baptist Church and later joined New Jerusalem Baptist Church. Krystal attended Sam Houston University where she studied Criminal Justice for three years.
She was a miracle baby for twenty-eight years.
She was preceded in death by her PaPa's, Freddie Curry and James Cooks.
Survivors include her parents, Christopher Cooks, Demetra Payton; grandparents, Lazell Curry, Joe and Pam Walker, Johnny and Betty Lewis; sisters and brother-in-law, Christina Cooks-Mitchell, Kristiana Cooks; brother-in-law, Daryl Mitchell; and special friends, Darrell P.J. Thurmond, Charleston Jones, Fredrick and Corey Harrison.
