Funeral Home: Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home of Montgomery
April 24, 1921 - June 19, 2013

If you listen closely you'll hear a new voice in the Heavenly choir singing praises to our Lord and that's because Martha Jane (Lusty) Haralson left us on June 19, 2013 to be one of their most recent choir members.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22, in the Chapel of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Montgomery, Texas. Burial will be 2 p.m. at College Station Memorial Cemetery, College Station, Texas.

Martha Jane and her family always sang together, especially when they gathered at the Cossatot River in Arkansas and at traditional family reunions and gatherings. Whether Martha Jane was alone or someone was nearby she sang by herself no matter what she was doing. She joins all of the other singers in her family who arrived there earlier including her husband, H. J. Haralson, mother, two sisters, two brothers, one grandson, one granddaughter and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Martha Jane was born April 24, 1921 in Wickes, AR to Bessie Elizabeth (Smith) and James Thomas Lusty. She married Lloyd Lindsey in 1938 in Galveston, Texas and they had three children who were all born and raised on the island. She was divorced in 1980 after retiring to De Queen, AR and in 1983 she married H. J. Haralson who was the love of her life. They traveled everywhere they could, even to Alaska, Hawaii and the Panama Canal. They loved car trips, bus trips, cruises, Las Vegas and nearby casinos. H. J. passed away in 1995 leaving Martha Jane heartbroken.

She leaves behind three children: Evelyn (Lindsey) Grevelle (husband Jim), Dale Lindsey (wife Ann) and Lloyd Lindsey, Jr. (wife Kathy); five grandchildren: Kimberly (Lindsey) Wood (husband Dillon), Kelli Lowery, Stacy (Lindsey) Rummage (husband Mark), Christianne Lowery, Alan Lindsey (wife Sonya) and Brittany Lindsey; four great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren plus her companion and friend Robin Olivarez.

We will all experience a great loss since she is gone and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends here, but we know for sure that she will be welcomed with open arms by her Heavenly Father and family.
