Sue Ann Powell went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 13, 2013. Sue's life will be celebrated at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 1200 Foxfire in College Station where Pastor Mike Hafer will be officiating. Burial will follow in Steephollow Cemetery, FM 1179 and Steephollow Dr. in Bryan.




Her laugh was contagious and could brighten everyone's day. She never met anyone she didn't call a friend. Her family is forever grateful for the countless prayers, visits, cards, notes and love expressed by those who were touched by her life.




Sue was born on May 11, 1953 in Brownfield, Texas and graduated from Plains High School. She met Marion at age 19 and fell in love instantly. She worked for FedEx when they lived in Bryan.




She was preceded in death by daughter, Annette Denise Powell; her mother, Annette Cleveland; and her father, G.W. Cleveland.




Sue is survived by her loving husband, Marion; her son, Ezra Powell and wife Kathy of Bryan; her daughter, Natasha Karstens with her husband Kris and their children Payton, Avery and Brayden of Bryan; and brothers, Dale Cleveland of Plains, J.C. Statham of Bigspring, Dean Statham of Bigspring. Also surviving are some very dear friends as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.




In lieu of flowers, it is the family's desire that gifts in her memory be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
