Mary Elizabeth Boegner, 87, passed away Monday July 1 at St. Joseph Manor.



Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday July 6 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rest-Ever Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan with a Rosary service at 7:00 p.m.




Mary was born September 23, 1925 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She graduated from High School in 1942. She attended St. Cloud Teacher's College and State Teacher's College from 1943-1945. She received her degree in 1946 from State Teacher's College in Duluth, MN. Mary was known for her beautiful work as an artist. She owned The Art Shoppe in Bryan where most of her work was on display. She painted many works of art that hang in many homes here in the Brazos Valley and around the world. Two of her pieces in particular, were design labels for Messina Hof's wines, the original pieces are on display at the winery.




Mary was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and sang in the church choir in her early years. She was a loving, caring and generous woman.




Mary is preceded in death by her husband, A. P. Boegner; and her daughter, Patricia Grote.




She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John G. and Charlotte Boegner of Bryan; son-in-law, Glen Grote of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Sheree Boegner, Johnny Boegner and wife Kristian, Allan Boegner and wife Felesia, Bridgette Boegner, Will Grote and wife Tina, and Shannon Worrell and husband James; great-grandchildren, Trent Nathan Boegner, Macy Marie and Aaron Matthew Boegner, Dillon Oliver Grote and Jarrett Shane Worrell.




Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic School, 600 S. Coulter, Bryan, Texas 77803.
