Robert Burke Neale, III, 71, of White Hall, died Wednesday afternoon, July 3, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
A memorial service celebrating Rob's life will be held eleven o'clock in the morning, Saturday, July 6, 2013, at First Presbyterian Church, 302 Nolan at Holland in Navasota with Pastor Barrett Ingram officiating. Immediately following, all are invited to a reception in the Family Life Center of First Presbyterian Church. Interment will take place at a later date in the Fairview Cemetery in White Hall.
Rob was born October 24, 1941 in Denton, Texas to Robert Burke, Jr. and Mary Gaynelle Yeager Neale.
At the age of 11, Rob was the youngest Eagle Scout recipient recorded in the Boy Scouts of America history in 1953 and attended the Philmont Scout Ranch three times.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, Rob served his country from 1959 - 1962, stationed in Ft. Benjamin in Indianapolis, IN, the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. and Ft. Hood, Texas. Rob matriculated at North Texas State University in Denton and received his graduate MBA degree from Southern Methodist University.
Rob worked for Tenneco Oil for 24 years and had vital posts in Indonesia and the Netherlands for VICO and Lyondell respectively.
On January 24, 1976 in Dayton, Texas he married Shelia Eileen Moore. They have lived in White Hall 10 years. Rob was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Navasota where he served as a church elder and the treasurer. He was also an active member and sponsor of the Navasota Theatre Alliance, both on stage as well as the board.
Rob leaves behind his beloved wife of 37 years, Shelia Moore Neale of White Hall; sons, Dan Allan Neale and wife, April, of Calabasas, Calif., and Trevor Neale and wife, Jeannine, of Dayton, Texas; a brother, Allan Yeager Neale of Robson Ranch, Texas; four grandchildren, Lauren Marie Neale of Houston, Craig Neale and wife, Brittany, Cameron Neale and Rhett Neale, all of Dayton, Texas; his former wife, Patricia Hallmark Neale of Georgetown, Texas; his faithful dogs, Charlie, Daisy and Rooney; along with numerous other relatives and great number of friends.
