Edgar Jack Irick, 80, of Edge, went to be with his Lord on July 11, 2013. A time for family to receive friends will be from 5 to 7 PM on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Hillier Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 15, 2013 at First United Methodist Church in Bryan, Texas. Interment will follow at House Cemetery in Edge, Texas.




Jack was born on July 26, 1932 to John and Arvilla Irick in Boley, Oklahoma. He graduated from Paden High School in Paden, Oklahoma and also graduated from Oklahoma A&M University in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1954. After serving in the Air Force, Jack spent his working years as a dairy farmer, rancher and oil field pumper.




Jack was an active member of First United Methodist Church. He also believed in giving back to the community. Jack helped to get rural phones and a rural water system to northern Brazos County. He also served on many boards including Brazos County School Board, BISD School Board, Wickson Water, Brazos County Farm Bureau, Producer's Co-op, and Brazos County District 2 Volunteer Fire Department. He was named Star Farmer by Texas Young Farmers.




He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, George Irick; and sister, Darlene Lowery.




The people who loved Jack most and will remember him forever are his loving wife of 58 years, Edna Lee (Holland) Irick; daughter Judy and husband, Hal Greer, along with their three children - Ian Greer and wife Kristin (children Ethan and Adalyn), Holland Greer, and Tad Greer; daughter Vicki Ward and son, Matt Ward; son Justin Irick and wife Monica and their children – Jordan and Chance; siblings John Lee Irick, Billy Frank Irick and wife Emma Lou; Joyce Ann and husband Johnny Williams; James Irick and wife Edna. He was also blessed with many nieces, nephews and friends.




As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to Brazos County District 2 Volunteer Fire Department at P.O. Box 32, Kurten, TX 77862 or a charity of your choice .
