Daniel Lee Dodds, 24, of Bryan, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 11, 2013. A time of visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 14, at Hillier Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Monday, July 15, at 1:00 p.m. at Hillier Funeral Home, 2301 E. 29th Street, Bryan. Pastor Jonathan Poe, of Covenant Family Church, will officiate. Interment will follow at 4:00 p.m. at West Boone Prairie Cemetery in Franklin.




Daniel was born to Michael and Deborah Dodds on May 1, 1989, in College Station. He was a lifelong resident of Bryan. Daniel was a 2007 graduate of Bryan High School where he was proud to be a part of the Bryan Viking Wrestling Team. He was a Class of 2013 graduate of Sam Houston State University and was to receive his diploma on August 3, 2013, with a B.B.A. in Economics. His sister, Kristy, and baby niece, Zoey, will accept his diploma in his honor on graduation day.




Daniel is survived by his parents, Michael and Deborah Dodds of Bryan; his sister, Kristy Dodds of Bryan and her fiancé, Jason of Bryan; his niece, Zoey of Bryan; his sweetheart, Ashley Wolff of Bryan; his aunts and uncles, Darrow and Carolyn Redden of Sealy, Kim and Scott Lingren of College Station, and Melissa Dodds of Bryan; his cousins, Kim and Steve Rassette, Kaylee Dodds, Meagan Dodds, Maddie Dodds, Connor Lingren, and Parker Lingren and his second cousins, Kaylee Rassette and J. T. Rassette. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Douglas and Ada Jane Redden of Franklin, R. L. and Marjorie Dodds of Franklin and his uncle, Pat Dodds of Bryan.




Daniel loved the outdoors: hunting (especially hog hunting), wake-boarding, riding four-wheelers, long range shooting and snow skiing. Other favorite activities were spending time with his love, Ashley, his friends, his family and his dogs. Daniel was always surrounded by friends and loved ones. He is remembered by his friends and family as: "so proud of his baby niece, Zoey", "sweet and caring", "fun loving", "hilarious story teller", "easy going", "goofy and good-natured with a memorable laugh", "super-outgoing", "lived life to the fullest", "special guy", "hard working", "focused on things he cared about", and "one of a kind". Daniel's special presence in our lives will be sorely missed.




Several of Daniel's best friends will be serving as his pallbearers: Douglas Mohr, Matt Young, Paul Sisson, Garrett Dorn, Casey Welch, Eric Brigman, Jake Richardson and Travis Orms. Honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Ottaway, Michael Guajardo, Michael Kuchera, Dustin Irwin and Nathan Thompson.
