Roland F. Crenshaw, 90, described by his family and friends as "a sweet and gentle soul" passed away peacefully on July 22, 2013. He was born on September 1, 1922 to Roland F. Crenshaw, Sr. and Lillian Elliott Crenshaw in Tabor, Texas. After graduating from Stephen F. Austin High School in Bryan, he joined the USAF and served our country for 4 years until his honorable discharge in 1946.
He married his one true love, Catherine Marie Estes of Monahans, Texas on December 20, 1944. He spent the next 15 years as a driver for the Greyhound Bus Lines in San Antonio, Texas. In 1961 Roland and Catherine moved to Bryan where they raised their three daughters. He worked for Criswell's Janitorial Service until his retirement, then for CC Creations until his final retirement.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Catherine and youngest daughter, Jayne Foust. Roland is survived by his daughters, Cathy Carter and husband Michael of Wylie, Texas, Rolene Branch and husband Stephen of Rosharon, Texas and son-in-law Mikel Foust of Willis, Texas; 6 grandchildren, Anthony Branch, Rebecca Branch, Stephen Branch, Jr., Dianna Cooper and husband Dewey, Timothy Dietz and wife Natalie and Amanda Foust; 6 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2013 at Alexander Cemetery, 5599 Alexander Cemetery Rd., Bryan, Texas. Funeral service is in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home and Crematory.
