Willie V. "Honey" Thompson, 85 of Bryan, passed away July 18, 2013 at M.D. Anderson Center in Houston, Texas. Visitation will be from 10:00 am - 7:00 pm on Friday, July 26, 2013 at Daniel & Son Funeral Home in Bryan. Funeral services are set for 11:00 am Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church located at 804 North Logan Avenue in Bryan, with interment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery, located in Bryan. The Rev. Anthony Ross Sr., will officiate. Services are under the direction of Daniel & Son Funeral Home.
Honey was born on June 12, 1928,in Caldwell, Texas to the late Willie C. and Viola Williams. She proclaimed her love for her LORD JESUS CHRIST at an early age. She was a member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, and her church activities consisted of a Sunday School Teacher, Mission Teacher, and a keynote speaker. Honey was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She enjoyed her family, her friends, and she enjoyed studying her Bible.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John T. "J.T." Thompson Sr., her parents, Willie C. & Viola Williams; two sisters, Mary and Rosetta Williams; and three brothers, Robert Lee, Jesse James, and Lloyd Williams.
Survivors include ten daughters and four sons-in-law, Rubye Gilbert (Scottie), Helen Carter (James), Delores Thompson, all of Missouri City, Johnnie Mae Thompson of Houston, Lovie Thompson, of Austin, Linda Sue Thompson, V-Ester Thompson, Marilyn Thompson, and Barbara Williams (David), all of Bryan, and Dr. Carolyn Lauderdale (Kevin) of Spring; one son and daughter-in-law, John (J.T.) Thompson Jr., (Rose); two brothers, John L. Williams, of Port Arthur, and Cloyd Williams of Houston; a sister and one brother-In-law, Helen Moore (Thomas ) of Bryan; 24 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
The family extends special thanks and appreciation to church members and many, many, friends.
