Mary Ann Novosad, 69, of Madisonville, passed away Tuesday July 23 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday July 26 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Madisonville Cemetery.
Mary Ann was born July 2, 1944, the daughter of Winfred and Myrle Hoke of Madison County. Mary Ann graduated from Madisonville High School in May 1962 and then attended and graduated from Bryan Academy of Cosmetology in December 1962. She had numerous hair salons and a 40-year career as a hairdresser. She also had her real estate license and sold real estate for several years.
Mary Ann was very talented for making heirloom jewelry displays. She enjoyed going to garage sales, playing cards at Joe's Place, antiquing and bowling. She was a member of a local bowling league for many years.
The love of her life was her grandsons. She enjoyed spending time with them, watching John Wayne movies and playing cards. As long as she was physically able she was at every event, Little League games, rodeos, 4-H livestock shows or whatever the grandkids were doing, you would see Mary Ann on the sidelines cheering them on.
Mary Ann was very patient and loving. You were always guaranteed to laugh when you were around her. She will be truly missed.
Mary Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Winfred and Myrle Hoke.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Regina South of Bryan; two daughters and one son-in-law, Susan South, and Monica and Pat Westmoreland all of Madisonville; grandchildren, Matt South, Heath South, Luke South, Patrick Westmoreland and Randy Westmoreland. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Jennine Hoke of Dripping Springs, and Jim Ed and Betty Hoke of Madisonville.
