Bryan H. Barrows III, 61, died peacefully at his home in Houston, Sunday, June 30, 2013 after a heroic battle with cancer. Services were held in Houston.

Barrows served as a long-time professor of speech, communications and humanities at Lone Star College-North Harris, Houston, Texas, where he had been employed full time since August of 2000. His goal has always been to help his students make a difference in society.

Barrows is preceded in death by his parents, Bryan H. Barrows Jr., and Mabel (Sadberry) Barrows; and his aunt, Blanche Barrows.
Barrows leaves behind his wife Dee of 21 years; stepchildren, Jerry, Gerald, Marshall and Michelle; faculty, staff he called friends from LSC-North Harris and countless students whose lives, he indeed helped make a difference in society.
