June Whitman Hobbs Thompson peacefully passed from this life on Sunday, July 28, 2013, at Magnified Nursing Home in College Station, Texas. She was born in New Albany, Indiana, the only child of John F. Whitman and Edna (Bishop) Whitman. June was a dedicated and outstanding teacher in the Evansville area for a great number of years, and had a huge impact on the lives of so many children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Arthur A. Hobbs of Evansville, Ind.; her second husband, Timothy W. Thompson, formerly of College Station and her grandson, Todd Hunt, formerly of Bryan.

She is survived by several stepchildren in various parts of the U.S.A. and Canada. She will be especially missed by her stepdaughter, Ellie Hunt of Bryan and her grandson, Dr. Carter Hunt of State College, Pa.

Arrangements were made through Calloway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan. Internment took place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Evansville, Indiana.
