September 2, 1958 - August 18, 2013
In a loving and peaceful atmosphere surrounded by her family, Tina Nell Vento went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 18, 2013. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 22 at 10:00 a.m. at Central Baptist Church in College Station.
Tina was born to Powell Percy and Katy Tidwell in Taylor, Texas in 1958. She attended Granger schools and was a cheerleader in high school. She graduated from Texas A & M University with a degree in Business Administration in 1983. Tina worked as the warranty administrator at Fred Brown/Garlyn Shelton imports for over 30 years. Tina was instrumental in the founding of the Lil' Wrangler youth dance program.
Tina is survived by her husband of 22 years, Bruce Vento; son Anthony Vento; mother Katy Tidwell of Granger, Texas; father and mother-in-law, Edward and Marie Vento of Kingwood, Texas; brothers and sister-in laws, Tommy and Tammy Tidwell of Taylor, Texas; Timmy and Cynthia Tidwell of Granger, Texas, and Terry Tidwell of Granger, Texas; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bryan and Susan Vento of Kingwood, Texas; nephews, Brandon Vento, Colton Vento, and Travis Tidwell; and nieces, Tiffany and Tessa Tidwell.
She was preceded in death by her father Powell Percy Tidwell.
Tina's life was always one of selflessness, always putting others in front of herself; she also provided others with an example of discipline, hard work, and genuine empathy for others. The list of people she mentored and helped through the years is endless. Even though she never wanted to draw attention to herself, her efforts over the years drew the admiration and respect of all who knew her. "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance; against such there is no law." Galatians 5:22-23 KJV.
A very special thank you to Hospice Brazos Valley for their compassion, kindness and love they showed for Tina. Memorial donations in her name may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley, 502 W 26th St, Bryan, TX 77803.
