Funeral Services for Rebecca Elaine (Willis) Hughes, 79, of Caldwell, are set for 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 8, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Caldwell, with Rev. Steve Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Chriesman Cemetery. A visitation will be held at 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell. Mrs. Hughes passed away peacefully at her home on September 4, 2013.




Becky was born November 1, 1933 to Bennie Ted Willis and Clyde (Price) Willis, in Fort Worth, Texas. She graduated from Paschal High School in 1951. She attended Texas Tech and in 1952 she married Houston Grady Hughes.




Becky was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved sewing, quilting and cooking.




Becky was an active member of the First Baptist Church, and taught Sunday school, Monday Missions, Acteens, and a member of Ruth Sunday School Class. She also was very active in bible study and was a prayer warrior.




She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Todd Willis Hughes; sister, Gwendolyn June Gooch; grandchild, Cameron Evan Hughes; and step mother, Marguerite Hill Willis.




Survivors include: sons and daughters-in-law, Russell and Sue Hughes of Houston, Steven and Karen Hughes of Denver, Colorado; daughter-in-law, Carol Hughes of Caldwell; brother, Bennie Ted Willis, Jr. of Texas; foster brother, Jim Boswell of Kingwood, Texas; grandchildren, Alex, Corbin, Molly, Olivia, Chad, Joshua, Erin, Kendra and great grandchildren, Kenner and Kyleigh.




The family requests memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.




Arrangements are under the care and direction of Strickland Funeral Home of Caldwell.
