Donald Edward Witenhafer, 73, of College Station, passed away Friday, September 20, 2013. A time for family to receive friends will be at 3:00 PM with a memorial service to follow at 4:00 PM on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Covenant Presbyterian Church at 220 Rock Prairie Rd College Station, Texas.




Don was born on January 31, 1940 to Theodore and Carol (Beck) Witenhafer in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from Parma High School in Parma, Ohio in 1958 and attended Case Western Reserve University where he acquired his Bachelors, Masters, and PhD in Polymer Science. He was an Honored Service Member and Fellow of The Society of Plastics Engineers. His career culminated with his induction into the Plastics Hall of Fame.




Don was an active member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. He was also an Eagle Scout, Scout Master and longtime Rotarian. His greatest joys included spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.




His parents preceded him in death.




Don leaves behind his loving wife of 51 years, Carol; son, Dale and his wife Sarah; daughter, Cathy Hugghins and her husband Joe; eight grandchildren, Emily, Hannah, and Rachel Witenhafer, and Sam, Ben, Abby, Zach, and Anna Hugghins.




As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to Covenant Presbyterian Church at 220 Rock Prairie Rd, College Station, Texas 77845 or Fellowship Church Next Step Project Building Fund at 1700 George Bush Dr. E #140, College Station, TX 77840.
