Stephen "Steve" (Lee) Saylor

On the afternoon of September 23, 2013, Stephen (Steve) Lee Saylor passed away at Magnified Health & Rehab in College Station after a long, strong- willed fight against cancer and complications from surgeries. Steve was 63 years old and despite his many tribulations, he committed his life to Jesus Christ.




He was born on December 20, 1949 in Brownwood Memorial Hospital servicing Goldthwaite, Texas to Walter (Spot) Glen Saylor and Mary Francis Campbell Saylor.




He graduated from Milby High in Houston in 1968, moved to Austin and retired after 25 years of service for The City of Austin Parks & Recreation. Some of his favorites included camping with dog Gilligan, the Cowboys, the Longhorns, the Cubs, the Braves, Clint Eastwood, Tremer and other sci-fi movies and poker games with the guys from work.




Steve is survived by brothers Charles Hollis Saylor, Gary Jacobs and James Jacobs and sisters Jan Saylor Coleman, Martha Ann Saylor Blankenship, Stephanie Saylor Head and Sally Saylor Reid. Steve is also survived by Nancy Saylor, his former spouse and true friend.




A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1515 S. College Ave, Bryan. His resting place will be at Bryan City Cemetery, 1111 S. Texas Ave., Bryan, Texas.
