Mary Bertell Beaver, 102, of College Station went to live with her Lord – and those who passed before her – on October 11, 2013. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 18, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1001 Woodcreek Dr., College Station.

Mary was born on July 28, 1911 in Sunbury, Pennsylvania. She moved with her husband of forty-nine years, John, to Texas in October 1978.

Mary quickly made new friends, became a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, volunteered as a Pink Lady at St. Joseph's Hospital and was well known for her physical activity and mental prowess which she maintained for over a hundred years. Mary had friends of all ages. She especially enjoyed her get togethers with the Dairy Queen gang.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, John Beaver (1979) and her great-grandson, Timothy Brandon Beck (2005).

Mary leaves behind a daughter and son-in-law, Bets and John McSpadden; grandchildren, Kathy Beck and husband John Egbert, Cindy Beck and husband Fred Ferrara, Mary Beck, John Beck and wife Debbi Beck and one great-grandson, Daniel Beck.

Mary also leaves behind priceless memories and a set of values worth emulating.

The family very much appreciates the loving care given to Mary by her primary caregiver, Nadine Eaton and caregivers, Maribel Soto Gonzalez, Lois Jones, Devrin Steels and Bertha DeJesus. Thanks to Hospice Brazos Valley for the quality of care and support they provided.

If desired, memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice Brazos Valley, 502 W 26th St, Bryan, TX 77803; Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1001 Woodcreek Dr, College Station, TX 77845 or Salvation Army, 2506 Cavitt Ave, Bryan, TX 77801 in lieu of flowers.
