William “Lex” Morgan, Jr., 67, passed away December 18, 2013 at the Hospice Brazos Valley Inpatient Facility in Bryan. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 20, 2013 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan, with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 21, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Monsignor John McCaffrey as Celebrant. Interment will follow at the Memorial Cemetery of College Station.




Lex was born November 9, 1946 in Texarkana, Texas, the son of William Lex Morgan, Sr. and Virgie Lenora (Gill) Morgan. He served in the Army from 1971 to 1974. Lex was a manager and field service engineer for Beckman Coulter and had retired after 37 years of service. His passion for Labrador Retrievers led him to become a member of the Bryan / College Station Retriever Club in which he would participate in field trials with his beloved labs. He was dedicated to his family and his witty charm, laugh and unforgettable smile will be a memory that will live on forever.




He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Noel Lamar.




Survivors include his wife, Linda (Humble) Morgan; children, William Lex Morgan, III “Bill”, Susanne Leigh Morgan and Justin James Morgan & his wife, Sara; grandchildren, Dylan Yendrey, Reagan Yendrey, Maison Lex Morgan, and Elaina Morgan; sister, Helen Carter & her husband Dale, and Annie Ree Lamar; and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.




The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Hospice Brazos Valley.
