Dorothy Holley Cornish, 84, of Bryan, passed into eternal life on May 22, 2014. A time for family to receive friends will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 26, 2014 at Hillier Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Bryan City Cemetery, with Chaplain Gary Roe officiating.

Dorothy was born in Dallas on June 19, 1929, the younger daughter of Truman and Vivian Holley. Along with her sister, Marjorie, the Holley family lived in the Texas cities of Dallas, Jacksonville and Beaumont. She attended Lamar College and Texas State College for Women in Denton. On a blind date, Dorothy met Jack L. Cornish to whom she was joined in marriage on December 16, 1951. They lived in Beaumont for 13 years before settling in Bryan in 1964 where she lived for 50 years.

Survivors include son, Jack L. Cornish Jr. of Houston; daughter and son-in-law, Georgiann and Tom Dockery of Colchester, Vermont; son and daughter-in-law, Alan Cornish and Linda Crook of Creswell, Oregon; grandson, Thomas Dockery Jr. of Sumter, South Carolina; sister, Marjorie Moss of Zachary, Louisiana; and sister-in-law, Betty Neville of College Station.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Jack L. Cornish; her parents; and her granddaughter, Vivian Dockery.
