KBTX and Voices For Children – Court Appointed Special Advocates of Brazos Valley were recently presented the National Adoption Exchange Association’s 2011 Wednesday’s Child Award.
Voices For Children, a nonprofit child advocacy organization that collaborates with KBTX on the Wednesday’s Child segments, nominated Crystal Galny and her feature on Marcus – a 16-year-old who dreams of being a professional football player and finding a loving, adoptive family.
The awards featured artwork from youth in foster care (at left is Voices For Children’s award), and were presented at the AEA Annual Luncheon and Conference in Orlando on May 25th.
Wednesday’s Child is a monthly feature that highlights a child, teen or sibling set in foster care who is seeking a “forever family.” It is a collaborative project among Voices For Children, KBTX, The Eagle, Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and Specialties Photography.
